I am going travelling - can you help me get a job overseas?

How do I register with your agency?
You can send a copy of your resume to us by fax, email or post. We will then arrange a time for you to come in for an interview and, if required, give you all the relevant
paper work for signing up as a Travel Locum

What type of clients do you have?
For 20 years CRC Travel Locum has serviced a number of areas within the Travel and Tourism Industry, including airlines, hotels, corporate and retail travel agencies, wholesalers, incentive houses, cruise ships, Tourist offices and many, many more. We have also placed people in Temporary and Permanent jobs outside the Industry.

Is there a fee to join your agency?
No, there is no fee to join our agency. However, we do provide some services to which fees are applicable e.g. Career Counselling, Resume Planning & training in Interview Skills.

What type of experience do I need?
The level and type of experience required varies according to our clients' needs. For temporary roles it is required that the consultant have a minimum twelve months experience; however we also receive permanent job orders for staff ranging from graduate to senior management and executive levels.

Are there additional qualifications I need?
As with most industries the Travel industry changes daily, with new CRS systems emerging and technology evolving to meet the demands of a 'travel savvy' clientele. It is important that you are trained in at least one of the more widely used CRS', and that you have some knowledge in Australian Fares and Ticketing. Possessing knowledge of automated back-office systems is also desirable.

If I sign up as a temp can you guarantee there will be lots of work?
Ideally, we would love to have all our temps working all the time, but the amount of work available is determined by market forces. If it is quiet in the Travel Industry as a whole then we too will be quiet. However, we always endeavour to find work for our Locums and keep them busy!

How much notice do you give for temporary assignments?
It is always hard to predict when an agency will find itself short-staffed. Sometimes they have time to plan ahead and book a temp; other times they will call early in the morning and ask if a consultant can go in for the day. Again, we cannot determine or guarantee when the work will be there, and can only request that our temps be as flexible as they can be. We understand people have holidays and appointments arranged. Just let us know and we will not call you on those days.

What is the going rate/salary?
Rate varies according to client, duties required and level of experience of the consultant. Working with CRC you will be treated as a full employee with Superannuation and Workcare both paid by the company. We will always confirm the hourly rate before each assignment.

Do I need to keep in regular contact with you once I am registered?
You are always welcome to call if you have any enquiries, and we are always happy to hear from our Locums, even if it just to say hello! As CRC is your employer it is important that you feel part of the CRC Travel Locum team, and know that we value your experience and skills. We pride ourselves on having the best 'Temp Team' around, and look forward to being able to utilize your services. Most of our communication is electronic, so if you do not have an email address, we will set one up for you.

Can my boss find out I am looking for a new job?
All information, including the fact that you may be considering a career change, is confidential. CRC will never disclose your personal details and will only contact you as you request. We have a strict rule of not approaching staff who work at our existing clients, so if you see job you want, you must contact us first.
