The Interview.
The most important thing you can do for an interview is to prepare .

  • Be organised; work hard at getting the job.
  • Plan what clothing you are going to wear, to suit the company culture. Plan in advance to avoid last minute panic.
  • What you are going to say. Check out the website of the company, get their brochures or annual report and READ
  • Plan what you are going to carry along with you. It is not a memory test; a copy of your resume is fine.
  • Prepare some questions, not related to annual leave, salary or days off.
  • Check the location and how to get there….and BE EARLY

Look professional and willing to accept the job. Assemble relevant information to take in with you. Trade certificates and qualifications are good examples of this. Provide contact details for your references but make sure that your referee contacts are up to date and that they are aware of your application.
  • Be prepared for what you need to say, what is going to be asked of you, as the answers that you give are important. Realizing what will be asked is considered important and testing.
  • The answers will be carefully recorded and monitored during evaluation.
